Texas Southern University, via the College of Continuing Education has implemented a new Professional Career Development Program (Enterprise Information Portal and eBusiness Deployment) to help meet the demands caused by the digital revolution. The training is aimed at professionals, consultants, entreprenuers, business owners and recent college graduates or anyone looking to contribute in an administrative or office environment. This training would also benefit those that have been displaced or underutulized. The student participant would come away with a "hit-the-ground-running" ability to contribute in the areas of Enterprise Information Portal deployment and Enterprise Web Development. Core subject includes ABAP/4, ERP Web/Interface Technology, J2EE and XML. Elective courses are available where the student has the option to specializing in eCommerce, traditional business functions or in logistics. The program offers 280 hours of classroom lectures, live industry demonstrations and computer lab exercises. The participant also spends 120 hours in an off-campus internship program where industry strength projects are assigned. All lectures, technology demos and projects are led by ERP experts with considerable industry experience. |
A post graduate work program is also available to graduates that have shown great interest and the ability to master these technologies and business practices. Here the participant, gains valuable experience, while serving as an associate consultant. He/she builds ePortal tools to enable small businesses the ability to engage commerce with Fortune 1500 and other global enterprises. The TSU Professional Career Development program is a collaborative effort involving small neighbor businesses, corporate 1,500, community support groups and state and banking funding groups. It is intended as a win-win alternative for all...students...small businesses having access to global markets... corporate being able to strengthen their supply diversity initiatives. |
